I wanted to say “thanks” for praying about our coffeehouse last month. It was a blast and because of your prayers, we had the most Italians come to this than any other coffeehouse that we have hosted. This week, we have two events that I would like you to be in prayer about: English Outreach (on Wednesday) and our Coffeehouse (on Friday). I have invited some of my neighbors to come and they may not be able to make it, but the important thing is that we are staying in touch with them! I was just invited to a friendly get-together tomorrow night at my neighbor, Johnny’s house. He’s a pediatrician and we have had several conversations across the way from our balconies. He is a nice guy and I look forward to getting to know him, his friends, and his wife a little more. I ask you to continue to pray for us as we reach out as witnesses of Jesus Christ, here in Ancona.
This afternoon, I had my first experience as to what its like to make a “call” in a cross-cultural context. My friend Maurizio and his parents have had a pretty rough week and they asked us to come and pray. It is a pretty dysfunctional situation and the family seems to be in crisis. I ask you to keep their family in your prayers this week. On an exciting note, our church is growing! We are planning to multiply into two cell groups sometime this fall as the Lord guides us and multiplies His church. Please keep praying for the Harvest here in Ancona! Also today, I enrolled in some classes that are offered here in town at something like a community college. I am taking guitar, philosophy, a bible class, and a literature class. I hope to meet some more people through this as well as increase my language skills.
Please be in prayer this week for:
- Our outreach events
- Our neighbors and friends
- Our church
- Us! Our language abilities and intimacy with God
