Monday night, we had our monthly coffeehouse which the theme was “Valentine Blues.” It went really well and it was our largest coffeehouse yet! I know it seems like I say this every time I report about our coffeehouse, but the truth is that it is a growing attraction and a visible fruition of the relational work that we are doing during the rest of the month. We had twenty-six people (not counting we Americans) come and listen to some live blues music which turned out to be an evening where everyone began to sing along to their favorite classic songs! It was a blast for an average rainy Monday night! Relationships are beginning to develop in a wide variety of relational networks and we need your prayers more than ever for wisdom, opportunity, and open hearts!
This Saturday, I am headed down south for a few days to Latiano, a small town near Brindisi to visit a couple small churches that I had the chance to visit last year. I can’t believe that a year has past since I have seen all of them and they are very excited to have me come down and visit. I would also ask for your prayers during this trip—that it would be a refreshing time for them and an opportunity for all of us to grow together in the Lord. I have also, in the past asked you to pray for a friend of ours who is also a participant in our weekly Life Group whose name is Maurizio. Since the Casey’s have returned to the field, Jason has been able to study the Scriptures with Maurizio and he is now considering being baptized. This is exciting for us, but to be honest, Maurizio has said things like this in the past, so we are wanting to help him step out in faith in Christ and not just go through the motions. Please pray for Maurizio, he has a unique past, that is filled with many stories that are too many to tell in this email. Pray that he might find that freedom that only Christ gives and encounter the newness of life!
